# What your payer sees - NexPay

## At a glance

- **Intended for:** Agents, schools & payers
- **Reading time:** 5 minutes
- **Last updated:** 1st June 2026

**TL;DR:** When a payer opens your link, they see a clean, branded page. They fill in the details needed (amount if open, reference, their own details, and any documents), then tap "See payment methods." Methods are grouped by how fast the money arrives — Instant, Within hours, 1–2 business days, and longer. They pick one, optionally choose an installment plan on eligible cards, review, and pay. They get a confirmation they can print.

## Seeing it through your payer's eyes

When you send a payment link, the payer steps onto a page you don't usually see yourself. Knowing exactly what's on it means you can answer "what do I do now?" before they even ask — and reassure a nervous parent that the page in front of them is legitimate, simple, and safe. This article walks through that page from the payer's side.

> **For agents and schools:** A quick "here's what you'll see" message alongside the link removes almost all the friction. Most payer questions are really just "is this the right page?" and "what do I enter?" — both answered below.

## A clean, branded page

The first thing to know is that the payer doesn't land on a cluttered generic form. They open a clean, merchant-branded page that feels like a continuation of dealing with you. The link can carry a label so they can see what they're paying for at the top. There's no NexPay dashboard to navigate — just the payment in front of them.

## Step 1: Filling in the details

The page asks the payer for what the payment needs. Depending on how the link was set up, that can include:

- **Amount** — if the link has an open amount, they enter how much to pay; if it's fixed, this is already set
- **Reference** — an optional invoice number or note
- **Their own details** — name, email, phone, date of birth, and address
- **Tax ID** — required in some countries (for example, several Latin American countries)
- **Documents** — an identity document and a supporting document, if the payment requires them

Sections expand as needed, so the payer isn't overwhelmed with every field at once.

> **Quick tip:** Tell payers up front to have their ID and address handy. The details step is where an unprepared payer stalls; a prepared one moves straight through.

## Step 2: Choosing how to pay

Once the required details are in, the payer taps **See payment methods**. (If something's still missing, the page gently shows them what.) NexPay then displays the methods available for their country — and crucially, groups them by **how fast the money reaches the recipient**:

- **Instant** — the recipient receives funds instantly
- **Within hours**
- **1–2 business days**
- **Longer** — methods that take more time
- and any others

This grouping helps the payer choose with the deadline in mind. If tuition is due Monday, they can see at a glance which methods arrive in time. Each option shows what's involved so they can pick confidently.

> **Worth knowing:** The methods on offer depend on the payer's country. Someone paying from Brazil sees local instant options; someone paying from the UK sees theirs. NexPay shows each payer what's actually available where they are.

## Step 3: Installments, if eligible

On eligible cards, the payer may see an **installment plan** option — a chance to split the payment into a number of installments. They choose how many. Whether installments are available, and any interest, depends on their card and region, and it's shown to them at the time. For the full picture, see [paying in installments](/training/quotes-and-methods/paying-in-installments.md).

## Step 4: Review and pay

Before paying, the payer reviews a summary of their payment. When they're happy, they pay — and NexPay guards against accidental double payments, so a stray tap won't charge them twice.

If their quote happens to expire while they're filling things in, they see a calm note that rates have expired and to choose a method again. Nothing they entered is lost; they just re-select so the amount stays accurate.

## Step 5: Confirmation

When the payment goes through, the payer gets a confirmation they can print, along with a **payment number** they can quote if they ever need to ask about it. If the link includes a **"View payment status"** option, they can check progress themselves; if not, you can see the status on your side and confirm to them once it's paid. On your side, that payment appears under the link's submissions and in your Payments list, and once it's paid you can download a receipt and remittance advice — see [receipts and remittance advice](/training/payments/receipts-and-remittance.md).

> **For a worried payer:** Most payer questions are really "is this page real?" The page answers that itself — your branding, the "Powered by NexPay" mark, and regulator badges. If a payer needs more reassurance, share [Is this safe? Paying through a link](/training/trust-and-compliance/paying-safely-via-a-link.md), written for them.

## Checkpoint

After reading this, you should be able to:

- Describe the clean, branded page a payer lands on
- List what a payer enters — amount, reference, their details, tax ID where needed, and documents
- Explain how methods are grouped by arrival speed and why that helps the payer
- Tell a payer what to expect around installments and an expired quote
- Know that the payer gets a printable confirmation and where the payment then appears for you

## Frequently asked questions

### What does the payer need to have ready?

Their own details (name, email, phone, date of birth, and address), and in some countries a tax ID. Depending on the payment, they may also need to upload an identity document and a supporting document. If you let them know up front, they can have these to hand and breeze through.

### How does the payer choose how to pay?

After filling in their details, they tap "See payment methods." NexPay shows the options available for their country, grouped by how quickly the money reaches the recipient — Instant, Within hours, 1–2 business days, and longer. They pick the one that suits them.

### Can the payer pay in installments?

On eligible cards, yes — they'll see an installment plan option and can choose how many installments to split the payment into. Availability and any interest depend on their card and region, and it's shown at the time. See the installments guide for details.

### What if the payer's quote expires while they're filling things in?

They'll see a calm message that rates have expired and to pick a method again. Nothing is lost — they re-select and continue. Rates move, so this just keeps the amount accurate.

### Does the page show my branding?

Yes. The payment page shows your school or agency's name and logo at the top, alongside a "Powered by NexPay" mark and badges for the regulators NexPay is registered with. It feels like a continuation of your relationship with the payer rather than a generic third-party form, and the regulator badges reassure a nervous payer that a licensed company is handling the money.

### My payer is worried the link is a scam. What do I tell them?

Reassure them with what the genuine page shows — your name and logo, the "Powered by NexPay" mark, and the regulator badges at the bottom. Tell them they'll never be asked to enter the school's bank account (it's already set up), and that they can confirm the link with you directly before paying. There's a dedicated payer guide — "Is this safe? Paying through a link" — you can share with them.

### Does the payer need the school's bank details?

No, and it's worth telling them so up front. The school's verified account is already configured in the link, so the payer only enters their own information and chooses how to pay. If a payer ever sees a page asking them to type in the school's account number, that's a sign the page isn't a genuine NexPay link.

### What does the payer get at the end?

A confirmation they can print, plus a payment number they can quote if they ever need to ask about it. If the link includes a "View payment status" option, they can check progress there. From your side, the payment appears under the link's submissions and in your Payments list, where you can download a receipt and remittance advice once it's paid — and you can confirm to the payer when it's done.
